At Rock Paper Digital we use a variety of tools to improve our productivity.  We’re all time poor, and in today’s age we have a huge amount of information being presented to us that we did 5 years ago, in email, in the browser.

Hey, even the billboards are now electronic and change the ads dynamically!

Trust me, as being a bit of a technology freak I love to try new shiny things. I like to learn how others are solving problems technically as well as aesthetically.

Today, I wanted to share today the top 3 productivity tools to save you time in your business.

Asana

We have put systems in place in our business to ensure nothing falls through the cracks, and to ensure the same process is executed each and every time.  By having these processes documented in an online system makes it much easier to delegate these tasks to other co-workers or to virtual assistants across the world.

We use Asana for all our internal processes and use it on client projects and invite our clients to join us.  They get to see where we’re up to and we can assign tasks to our clients such as ‘Provide Content’. Asana enables teamwork without email. With Asana, tasks and conversations are together in one place, so your team can get more done with less effort.

One of Asana’s most powerful features is creating process templates. Create a template to capture a sequence of tasks your team needs to complete regularly. Use could use templates for:

  • New Client Checklists
  • Interview Questions
  • Marketing & Press Launches
  • Quality Assurance
  • New Hire Onboardings

Be sure to check out Asana, and let us know what you think.

WordPress Editorial Posts Calendar

Did you remember to write a post for next Tuesday? What about the Tuesday after that? WordPress doesn’t make it easy to see when your posts are scheduled. The editorial calendar gives you an overview of your blog and when each post will be published. You can drag and drop to move posts, edit posts right in the calendar, and manage your entire blog.

We’ve just started using this plugin and it’s been fantastic.  It’s really helped us stay on track to create a blog post each week.  You can see all your posts and when they’ll be published, you can drag and drop your posts to different dates as well as heaps of other neat features.

We like this tool because it’s simple, yet effective.

Be sure to check out Editorial Posts Calendar, and let us know what you think.
